Our Story — About the Author
I don’t really consider myself a writer. I’m a storyteller.
The story of The Kodiak didn’t begin as a plan to write a novel, build a series, or create an epic fantasy world. It began with two characters: Torr and Asha. As their story unfolded, I found myself drawn deeper and deeper into their lives, their struggles, and their world. Before long, I wasn’t simply writing a story anymore. I was living it alongside them.
What started as a simple idea grew into something far larger than I ever expected. A single story became a novel. The novel became a series. And the journey is still only beginning.
What you’ll read in The Kodiak: Origins is the first step into a world filled with sacrifice, family, responsibility, power, and the choices that define who we become. There is much more waiting beyond Book One.
Outside of writing, I’m just a regular husband and father. My greatest blessings are my wife, whose support makes all of this possible, and my three sons, whom I love more than the mountain itself. Family has always been the foundation of my life, and you’ll find that reflected throughout every page of my work.
Over the years I’ve worked in many different industries and worn many different hats: fitness, security, recreation, fast food, retail, technology, business, nuclear security, nuclear operations, crisis management, construction… and now, literature.
To be honest, I’m still not entirely sure how that last one happened.
But every role, every challenge, and every season of life has taught me something about people, perseverance, leadership, hardship, and hope. Those lessons inevitably found their way into my stories.
Through it all, I remain grateful. I firmly believe that with God, all things are possible. The opportunities I’ve been given, the lessons I’ve learned, and the ability to tell these stories are blessings I do not take for granted.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for giving The Kodiak a chance. I sincerely hope you’ll join me on this journey and experience the world of Torr and Asha as it continues to grow. We’re only getting started.
